Our Oak OG Peg Loom Kit features our favorite wood species, oak, known for its strength and durability. As a readily available hardwood in the Midwest, it was a top choice for building barns decades ago. Today, we continue to reclaim oak (both white and red) and feature it frequently in our inventory. These woods have stunning natural character and each board is very unique!
PLEASE NOTE The designation "Red Oak" may or may not mean that the board has a red cast to it. The terms "Red Oak" and "White Oak" actually refer to a variety of different oak species. [Fun fact - "black oak trees" fall into the "red oak" category!] While some of the Red Oak species do, in fact, have a red cast, this is not a hard rule in this genus. The biggest difference is that red oak is often lighter in weight than white oak. If you would prefer a loom with a reddish cast, please specify that at check out and we will accommodate as our supply allows. If you want a board with a true red color, please consider purchasing a cherry or a light walnut loom.
Our Oak OG Peg Loom is an absolute beauty! Featuring a single row of our standard peg size, the 20" loom offers the great flexibility and portability for your small project needs. These pegs are perfect for roving, locks, and fabric strips.
Includes:
- pre-drilled loom in our distinctive shape
- a full set of pegs, plus 2 extra pegs
- sanding paper
- threading tool
- instruction sheet
As a final touch in creation, we add mineral oil to oil each board, which brings out all of the natural beauty hidden in the board. If you ever feel the need to spruce up your board, mineral oil is an affordable and easily accessible option that works wonders!
Photos are labeled with the serial number of the board in the photos. When you select a specific serial number, you will get the exact loom pictured. As the oak looms are our standard, we have left the listing open and also included a TBD loom that has not yet been created. Each board is unique and different. Photos at the end without a serial number are representative of our constantly changing stock. If you select the TBD option and would like more or less knots/character, please leave a note at check out.

Good to the last drop
We strive to use every piece of every board we get into our shop. This means not only do we sometimes have looms of non-standard sizing, but we also use the cut off pieces to create our tapestry looms, niddy noddys, and more.
